Football/Volleyball finish regular season undefeated

The Lady Hawks played an exciting match with the Burton Bulldogs and came away with a 2 games to one victory clinching the number one seed in the playoffs and completing an undefeated regular season. The Hawks started out strong beating Burton 25-10 in game one behind solid hitting from Jaaci Patterson and Audrey Scheer. Sheer also led the team with an excellent jump serve that produced several points in a row. In game two, the Hawks let countless hitting errors and several missed serves give Burton an early lead. The Hawks battled back to tie the game 20-20 only to miss a serve and lose game
two, 25-22. After losing game two, the Hawks collected themselves and did what great teams do, they kept attacking. With blocking from Morgan Hunter, setting from Jordyn Chavez, and hitting from Jaaci Patterson and Audrey Scheer, the Hawks dominated game three winning 15-3. Alyssa Ibarra served 8 points in a row AND made an incredible save from behind the serving line on a shanked pass which led to a Sequoia point. Way to go girls!

In the JV match, Alisha Verdejo came to play leading the team with many great serves, making great sets and saving several bad passes. Dannielle Russell and Aleena Medrano served well for Sequoia and Nea Mendoza controlled the net tipping several balls for points. Bryton Loflin and Harley Certuchi also played solid games hitting, passing and serving. Allison Daguman helped the Hawks with her serving and Hannah Adney made an excellent dig on a hard hit ball that helped earn a point for the Hawks. The JV won 2 games to zero and finished the season undefeated. More importantly, the JV improved every match and it is that hardworking attitude that will make them successful next year. Way to go girls! Mr Cha and Mr Haas are very proud of your progress this year. Go Hawks.
