Baseball and Softball travel to Exeter

On Thursday our girls softball played a good Wilson bulldogs team and beat them 5-3.  In the first inning Wilson took a 2-0 lead. In the 3rd inning, with bases loaded, Morgan Hunter hit a 3 RBI triple taking the lead 3-2. Exeter tied the game later that inning. In the last inning Sonia Castillo walked and Morgan Hunter, once again, came up big and hit a two run home run to take the lead 5-3. Morgan also pitched a great game striking out five players. Sophia Mendoza had two great defensive plays at first base and Greenley Wilson locked down left field. The girls are truly coming together as a team and learning how to play championship style ball. Great job girls!!!

The Hawk baseball team defeated the Warriors from Wilson 11- 5.  Richie Bailey had another strong outing as he pitched four solid innings.  Bailey only allowed two runs, two hits and strike out six.  Josh Post led the Hawks in hits, while Luis Alcantar muscled in the most RBIs.  Aidan Jackson came in, as the relief pitcher, in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the game 11-5.  Hopefully every student and teacher at Sequoia can join the baseball team next Tuesday, as the Hawks play their final home game against Lindsay.
