Threats on Social Media: See Something-Say Something

On Tuesday there was a report of a school message saying there was a threat of a school shooting. Police were immediately contacted and an investigation was held. A student was taken into custody for further investigation. On Wednesday there was another post on Snapchat threatening that there would be an incident on campus. Again, police were immediately contacted and another investigation started. It was determined that the first post was an Internet hoax and the second did not involve our school but was focused on a school with the same initials in Pennsylvania.

Sequoia Middle School and the local police take these threats very seriously. Student safety is extremely important to us so if you hear of anything please tell a parent, teacher or local officer. We need to check out every threat to prevent something dangerous from happening or stop a hoax that is causing fear. If you see something or hear something you need to say something!
