Yesterday the boy’s football team played the Summit Bears and beat them 33-0. The team played another great game, especially on defense shutting out their opponent for the 4th game in a row. On Summit first possession we held them on a 3 and out forcing them to punt. Adam Daguman returned the punt down the left sideline for a touchdown. He was named player of the game. Later on in the game we scored on a kick return, Matthew Rivera received the ball faked the run to the left and passed it back to Isaiah Ellis who ran it back to the right sideline for a touchdown. Alex Narváiz pulled the flag on the Summit kick returner that also was touchdown saving. Andrew Bounyoungvon had an interception that gave us great field possession that led to a Kaleb Salazar touchdown. Adam Daguman also had an interception in the game but it was Matthew Rivera interception in our end zone that saved the shut out. Great job boys!!!

The Lady Hawks beat the Summit Bears 2 games to 1 on Tuesday, but it was how the Hawks won that made it such a good victory. The Hawks played as a team and everyone on the floor had to contribute to earn the win. The Hawks showed character after falling behind game one 20-9 by coming back to take a 23-22 lead. Unfortunately for Sequoia, two key missed serves let the game slip away 27-25. Again, to the credit of the team, the Lady Hawks battled in game two and won it 25-18. Jaaci

Patterson, Morgan Hunter, and Jordan Chavez led the game in hitting while Sonia Castillo, Bailey Cook and Annalaura Flores led the team in passing. In Game three, Jordyn Chavez served the first 9 points of the game as the Hawks went on to win 15-5. She was named player of the game. The Hawks still have room for improvement, but-win or lose- they are starting to play together as a team. Way to go girls!
