Track Team Competes in 2017 Whitney League Championships

The Hawk Track team competed at the Whitney League Championships last Thursday at Granite Hills HS.

The boys team finished in third place out of 10 teams. Only 7 points behind the first place team from Live Oak.

  • Hector Nava Won the 400 meter and got 3rd in the discus.
  • Cristian Ceja got 4th in the 800.
  • Marcus Aparicio ran to a 3rd in the 2 mile.
  • Evan Drummond got 2nd in the hurdles.
  • Jacob Watson got 4th in the hurdles.
  • Rigo Tapia got 2nd in the discus.
  • Cristian, Hector, Adrian Martinez, and Leo andrade ran their way to second in the 4 x400 relay.

The girls were second out of ten only 18 points behind Live Oak.

  • Kailyn Castle broke her own school in the 400m, took first in the shot put and second in the long jump.
  • Riley Beamon broke her own school record in the hurdles, got second in triple jump, and third in the long jump.
  • Erica Munoz won the 800m and second in the 2 mile.
  • Chanel Bradley set the school record in the 2 mile and got second in the mile.
  • Kelci Seaman jumped to a third in the triple jump.

In the throwers relay , Hector Nava, Hassoon Sarwar, Kailyn Castle, and Claire Lee ran their way to a first place and a school record. Mr Lee and Mr Uphoff would like to thank Mr Haas, Mr Salazar, Mr Stiegleder and the PHS track team for all their help at the meet.
